Key Dates
Children’s auditions (ages 8-13) Monday 14th September, 6:30-8pm at Hungerford Royal British Legion. Nothing will need to be prepared in advance.
Adult and Youth Launch (ages 13+) Monday 14th September, drop-in from 8-9pm at Royal British Legion. Audition information available to collect
Adult and Youth Auditions- Thursday 17th September at Hungerford Library- bookable slots from 7:30-9pm (to be arranged at the launch).
Rehearsals-
Mondays. Children 6:30-8pm, youth and adults 8-9pm.
Thursdays- 7:30-9:30- scene rehearsals for those with lines/solos
Performances- 17th-20th February
There is a £50 membership fee to take part in this production.

Roles for children aged 8- 13
ANNIE - Red-headed 11-year-old streetwise orphan; motherly to fellow orphans while independent & tough.

KNOCK LIFE
MOLLY - The littlest who is 6 yrs. old
PEPPER - 12 yrs. old, tough, bossy
DUFFY - 13 yrs. Old, the oldest & biggest; somewhat of a leader
KATE - Next-to-littlest who is 7
TESSIE - Cry-baby who is 10 (oh my goodness, oh my goodness!)
JULY - The quietest who is 13
ORPHAN ENSEMBLE - Gritty, neglected & vulnerable little girls of varying ages; must have mischievous fun & "sibling-style" fights; must be vocally strong & visually expressive - be able to dance & move well on stage; Sing HARD KNOCK LIFE, YOU'RE NEVER FULLY DRESSED, TOMORROW (REPRISE)
Please be aware that the orphan ensemble will include both boys and girls. However, to stay within licensing rules, all the actors must portray girls. (Just like in Oliver! All of Fagin’s boys were presented as boys, although they were played by both boy and girl actors). Costuming will be done sensitively so boys will not be uncomfortable playing these characters.

MISS HANNIGAN - Head of the Orphanage & a definite "has-been"; hates her job & the children, a strong comedy role. Sings: LITTLE GIRLS & EASY STREET
ROOSTER - Miss Hannigan's younger thief of a brother; a hustler by all accounts. Flashy & self-assured. Sings EASY STREET & EASY STREET (REPRISE)
LILY- Rooster's friend - ditsy, checks her make-up in the mirror often, big New York accent. Sings EASY STREET & EASY, STREET (REPRISE)
OLIVER WARBUCKS - A self-made millionaire who spent his life building his career & not his personal relationships; a kind man, but a bit brusque and not used to children, pleasantries, or emoting; Sings NYC, YOU WON'T B E AN ORPHAN FOR LONG; I DON'T NEED ANYTHING BUT YOU, TOMORROW (REPRISE)
GRACE FARRELL - Oliver Warbucks' "right hand" person. She is sophisticated, mature, calm, cool, & together. Sings I THINK I'M GONNA LIKE IT HERE, NYC, & TOMORROW (REPRISE)
