Synopsis
Joe loses his best friend and his father on the same day. Nellie, moves away with her family while his dad mysteriously disappears after a drunken night out. Years later, he is still waiting for both of them to return.
Grown up, Nellie is now a star of the music hall. Joe is desperate to see her again but he worries that is not good enough for her so he lies about who he is. As Nellie and he get closer, the lie gets harder to maintain and the worse it will be if the truth is revealed.
Meanwhile, Mother Kelly has found a new husband-to-be. Unimpressed by her choice, Joe and his siblings begin a search for his estranged father so he can put an end to the wedding.
This romantic comedy includes songs from the musical halls.
