NODA AGM and Presidential Gala 2015
Your invitation to attend
On Saturday 26th September 2015 NODA is holding its Meeting and Presidential Gala in Leeds and you are cordially invited to attend either in your own right as a member of the association or as a member of an affiliated society.
This year the incoming President is Chris Ingram, currently Chairman of Trustees and Vice President and he will be installed into his new role at the AGM. There will be a full report of the activities and finances of the association in 2014, also, the national Programme and Poster award winners will be announced.
Traditionally the event has been over two or three days, however, to keep costs down, the event will essentially be one day only. Most delegates, with the exception of those who live in the more remote corners of the UK, are able to travel Saturday morning as Leeds has excellent road and rail connections.
The AGM is at 14.00 in The Carriageworks Theatre (where most Leeds based societies perform), Millennium Square, Leeds, LS2 3AD. All members, society or individuals have a right to attend or be represented at the AGM free of any charge. The Meeting of Regional Committee Members is at 11.00 in the Carriageworks.
In the evening our Presidential Dinner and Gala Ball will be at a top four star hotel in Leeds; The Queens Hotel, City Square, Leeds, LS1 1PJ, which is immediately adjacent to Leeds Rail Station. The hotel is accustomed to hosting prestigious events in it’s superb Ballroom, accommodating up to 500 guests. The Reception for the evening is at 18.45 with Dinner at 19.30 prompt. After a sumptuous meal we will dance the night away. Full details are in the attached booking form and brochure.
*Only the Presidential Gala Dinner and Ball is being booked through NODA, tickets cost £45*
The Queens Hotel is immediately adjacent to Leeds Railway Station and The Carriageworks is only a 10 minute walk away, or even shorter in a taxi.
Hotel accommodation is not being booked through NODA but should be booked direct with your hotel of choice. There are still rooms available at The Queens Hotel for the Saturday night (Friday also) at £144 per room (double occupancy) or £!32.00 per room single occupancy, including breakfast. Book your room by phone to 0845 074 0060, specifying NODA package. Enclosed with this information are details of hotels to book in Leeds.
Anyone can of course decide to make a mini-break of the weekend and Leeds has many attractions both within the City and in the surrounding areas which would make such a break an attractive and interesting holiday.
It promises to be a great day – see you there!
